BLOCK PRINT TAPESTRY ~ Authentic hand block printed Kalamkari Indian tapestry or spread. Made of 100% power-loom cotton and measures approx. 108 x 88 inches. A quilt look square block pattern with a beautiful feathered and floral border. Colors are burgundy red, black and golden brown with burgundy red border on a beige background. Can be machine washed separately on cool/gentle and tumble dried. The art of hand block printing dates back thousands of years and is the oldest and slowest form of textile printing known to man. The design is created by dipping hand carved wooden blocks into the dye and then pressing the blocks by hand onto the fabric in a repeated and overlapping fashion until the entire cloth has been covered by the artists own hand.
