BLOCK PRINT TAPESTRY ~ Item may have minor defect in weave or print. Authentic hand block printed tapestry or spread in a filigree pattern. It is a pink coral color with some yellow in the border on white and measures approximately 107 x 70 inches. Made of 100% quality power-loom cotton offering a smooth tight weave. They are colorfast and can be machine washed on cool/gentle and tumble dried. The art of hand block printing dates back thousands of years and is the oldest and slowest form of textile printing known to man. The design is created by dipping hand carved wooden blocks into the dye and then pressing the blocks by hand onto the fabric in a repeated and overlapping fashion until the entire cloth has been covered by the artists own hand. The uneven pattern and irregularities are common characteristics of the art and are in no way to be considered defects. Many of our hand block printed tapestries and spreads have matching curtain panels for a great ensemble.
