Q: What is the difference between the "power-loom" cotton and the regular cotton tapestries?
A: The power-loom cotton tapestries are made from fabric produced by mechanical looms and offer a tight smooth weave with lasting durability. The regular cotton tapestries are more affordable and made from fabric woven on hand-looms which have a more relaxed weave with the feel of a soft cotton tweed.
Q: What is the difference between the "heavy tapestries" and the other tapestries that you offer?
A: Our heavy tapestries are double the weight and double the density of our regular tapestries. They have the consistency of a soft, light cotton canvas.
Q: How are the designs put onto the fabric?
A: The designs are either screen printed, tie-dye, batik, block printed or a combination of these methods.
Q: Why do you call them tapestry when the design is not woven into the fabric?
A: They are called tapestry as they are a form of textile art. Many of the designs are created using ancient techniques that have been passed down through the centuries.
